Be a Chef for a Day (BACFAD BEAT), is a youth-centric and skills-centered dynamic food initiative of the Italian Cultural Center of Maryland that operates in the Greater Baltimore-Washington Area and provides meals, nutritional education, life, and culinary skills, and training to youth and their families. The ultimate goal is to pull our community out of hunger and address poor nutrition-related diseases, household instability due to financial struggles, and food insecurity.
A Baltimore Food Social Enterprise Since September 2020, our nonprofit has been working on creating a social enterprise that would provide job training and job opportunities for community opportunity youth and to support our Be a Chef for a Day program while crafting something special.
Pasta is something we all fell in love with. Thousand of years of traditions to recreate a simple act of flour and water and to shape it into a work of culinary art.
